History
The Blaker Girls (a play on The Laker Girls, which Paula Abdul was formerly a part of) was brainstormed by friends of Blake after he made it through to American Idol. Blake's best friend Kristi and friend Andrea then took The Blaker Girls further as Blake progressed in auditions and continued on the show. The Blaker Girls started with a Myspace page and a merchandise site on Cafe Press and grew from there. The official website - Blakergirls.com started in February.

Throughout Blake's journey on American Idol, The Blaker Girls hosted viewing parties each week, spoke with local press, and continued to rally fans from around the country (and world) via the internet.

At Blake's request, it was designated that 50% of proceeds from merchandise sales would benefit Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle, Washington, and specifically go toward cancer research.

During the season of American Idol, Blaker Girls Spokeswoman Kristi was fortunate to have the opportunity to fly down to California for three different tapings of the show, including Idol Gives Back and the finale.

The Blaker Girls have been seen nationally on MTV News, People.com, US Weekly, and have had their merchandise worn by Rosie O'Donnell and Elisabeth Hasselbeck on The View.

About Blakergirls.com
This website was created in February 2007 and is currently on version 4. We are hosted by the wonderful folks at Surpass Hosting. We were previously hosted by Yahoo. The domain name was purchased thru GoDaddy.com. Graphics on the site were created using Adobe Photoshop. Files are uploaded to the website using ftp access via FileZilla. All logos are protected under copyrights held by The Blaker Girls. The website is paid for by proceeds from merchandise sales that were not designated to go to Children's Hospital. (Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center receive 50% of all proceeds, the rest go to overhead costs such as this website). The website was created and is maintained by Andrea, who can be contacted at webmaster@blakergirls.com. Andrea uses basic html to create the site and definitely couldn't do it without the help from sites like Lissa Explains It All and Funky Chickens HTML Help.

News

New! The Blaker Girls Fan Art page has returned. Simple register and you can add your creations. All the old fan art was lost in the server move and we're starting again from scratch. Sorry for the inconvenience but we're excited to have the fan art coming back!

American Idol has announced the next round of audition locations. click here for details.

We got our hands on a setlist from Sunrise, FL. These won't necessarily be the songs at every tour stop. Click here to see the setlist.

Get some great pics of Blake Lewis and crew from the American Idol tour? Send the pics along with which location it was to webmaster@blakergirls.com and we will put them up on the site and share them with our fellow Blakers

Reminder: Blakergirls.com is the only place to buy Blaker Girls t-shirts, etc and the proceeds will go to Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle. Merchandise sold anywhere else is not ours and is in violation of copyright law. Don't take money away from Children's, please buy your merchandise from our site.

If you have a banner or image on your myspace or website that is linked back to blakergirls.com, we would reeeeally appreciate it if you saved it, then uploaded it to a free image host like photobucket

Blog EntrySeattle Concert Recap Jul 29, '07 2:40 AM
by Pink for everyone

just got the pictures from last night up!  here's a brief recap of last night. :)

we got there a little later than we wanted (just before 6pm) because traffic was SO awful.  we hung around outside and chatted with a few blaker girls and then went to grab our seats.  blake had given seats to andrea, my boyfriend, and me.  they were on the first level in the 2nd row.  the seats were good, but not great for pictures.  so we figured you've all seen lots of great concert pics so we'd just take more backstage.  the concert was awesome and blake was the best (well, we're a little biased lol).  the crowd went CRAZY for him.  it was awesome.  he even did a Blaker Girl shoutout partway thru.  he told me afterwards it was the only time he's done that since we were there. :)  everyone sounded and looked great.  it was really fun to see them all performing again.

after the show we headed backstage to say hi to blake and everyone else.  blake was swamped (of course) so we made the rounds to see everyone else.  first we saw chris sligh and we were excited to see each other because we hadn't really seen each other since top 20 (i saw him for about 2 seconds at the finale).  twe talked to phil after that.  hen we saw jordin, who also had a huge line around her.  she looked fantastic and was really nice to everyone.  we saw sharlotte, our favorite "background vocalist", and she was saying how great seattle is and how she wants to come back.  then we went to see lakisha because my boyfriend developed a crush on her during the concert. lol.  she was great and remembered me from my trips to LA.  we headed over to wait in line for blake and i was laughing because it felt weird to wait in line to talk to one of my best friends! he was great, of course, and gave us big hugs and thanked us for being there.  we then headed outside near the busses so he could show us the new Ford he'd gotten that day.  he let his friend, brad, drive it around the block to check it out.  during this time we filmed Blaker Girl shoutouts from blake, c-rich, and sligh (COMING SOON!).  they were hilarious. they boys kept heading over to the fans (there were SOOO many people!) to sign autographs and take pictures.  the boys were going to head on the bus for some pizza so we got going.  dallas (blake's dad) took blake's car home for safe keeping until the concert is over.

all in all, a great night. it was so amazing to see blake performing in front of all those screaming fans.  it's pretty cool to see your friend realize his dreams.  i'm just excited for when i get to see him for more than 5 minutes again. haha

love you guys!!! hope you enjoy the pics. :)

Original message from Andrea Edmon:

BANNERS
If you have a "vote for blake" or other banner on your website/myspace being hosted by blakergirls.com (i.e. the web address of the image starts with www.blakergirls.com), we would really love it if you saved the image to your computer then uploaded it to a free image host (like www.photobucket.com), then change the image address on your page. We have so many people using our images that it's getting expensive for us to host so much space. Thanks so much! We're so glad everyone loves the banners and we hope to continue to have them!

Blog EntryChildhood Cancer - Let's Fight It! Jun 8, '07 3:13 AM
by Pink for everyone
This was sent to us by a Blaker Girl. The Blaker Girls donate money to cancer research at Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center and this is for the same cause - fighting childhood cancer. So please check it out and attend if you can.

Please do not respond to this message if you have questions, this is not our event we are just helping promote it.

------------------------

Five bands, two DJs, one MC, two promoters and area businesses are coming together to raise money for an important cause: Fighting Childhood Cancer

When: Friday, June 8th, 2007 , doors at 8 PM

What: For Mia: An Alex's Lemonade Stand Fundraiser

Where: The Khyber, Philadelphia

Downstairs: Audible, The Clamor, Kid Kreyol, The End of Radio, Hello Tokyo

Upstairs: DJ Deejay, MC Kenneth Masters, Ultragrrrl

Raffle with great prizes donated by local businesses

For: Alex's Lemonade Stand

Door: $10, all proceeds go to Alex's Lemonade Stand

12,500 American children under the age of 19 are affected by cancer each year, and, from the moment of diagnosis, their lives are changed forever. Despite the intense and aggressive treatments, approximately 2500 of the 12,500 children diagnosed will not survive. Since the incidence of childhood cancer is low in comparison to adult cancers it is not a research priority. The majority of money for research in this field is raised by private organizations like Alex's Lemonade Stand.

Locally, one of these children fighting cancer is 8-year-old Mia, currently in treatment at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for her second bout with acute myelogenous leukemia (AML). In her short life, Mia has endured endless hours of doctors' visits, painful treatments and hospitalizations. Yet she has never once complained, or asked "why me." Despite all Mia has been through in the last 2 years she keeps true to her motto: "Smiles Last Forever" and keeps on smiling.

This fundraiser is for her, and all the children like her.

The "For Mia, an Alex's Lemonade Stand Fundraiser" is an event put together by Kate "Hawk" McNichol and Maiken Scott to raise awareness and money for this important cause.

Kate Hawk is a Philadelphia promoter who already experienced the devastation of childhood cancer twice in her family. When Kate was fifteen, her cousin Timothy McNichol died of neurofibrosarcoma. He was also fifteen. Mia, the little girl this fundraiser is dedicated to, is Kate's cousin's daughter.

Maiken Scott produced a documentary on the topic of Childhood Cancer for WHYY Radio in 2006. "Childhood Lost and Found" aired on public radio stations nation-wide, and was recently honored with The Gracie Allen Award for best documentary. The stories of the families Maiken met during this time touched her deeply, and made her want to get involved in this important cause.

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (a registered 501c3 public charity) evolved from a young cancer patient's front yard lemonade stand to a nation-wide fundraising movement to find a cure for childhood cancer. Since Alexandra "Alex" Scott (1996-2004) set up her front yard stand at the age of four, more than $10 million has been raised towards fulfilling her dream of finding a cure for all children with cancer.

Questions? Contact Maiken at: (267) 546-6658 or Kate at: (267) 879-9519.

Blog EntryNew Info and Some Random Blake UpdateJun 8, '07 3:12 AM
by Pink for everyone
Original Message from Kristi Redman:

hey blakers!!

have you missed me yet? sorry i haven't been online too much lately. i have been incredibly busy with my 'real' job.

blake is doing really well and is just gearing up for tour rehearsal which starts late next week. he'll be in nyc just before then. he's really excited for tour and to see all of the contestants again.

some new info and random stuff on blake below:

1. Blake will be on THE VIEW on monday!!!! i've heard everyone at the view is SUPER excited to see him and meet him in person; they're all such big fans. be sure to check it out!

2. US WEEKLY online did an interview with blake the other day. it's a great one so check it out! http://blakelewisfans.multiply.com/journal/item/73

3. blake has the #3 album on ITUNES right now!

4. jordin and blake are NOT dating and are NOT romantically interested in each other. she's only 17 (illegal!) and have a brother/sister releationship

5. blake's myspace pages are now back up and running. they were disabled during american idol by fox. you can add him if you want but he is rarely on there. be patient if you request his friendship, leave a comment, or message and don't hear back right away. he's a busy guy. you should just add his 'blake lewis' page because he will be deleting his bshorty page since it's too much work to keep up on both pages. www.myspace.com/blakelewis.

and now some old favorites:

7. i DO NOT have any info on backstage passes or meet and greet info. i promise as soon as i know something i'll pass it along, but for now, i DON'T know anything! :)

8. blake is STRAIGHT.

9. blake is SINGLE.

ok, i think i got everything from my list. hope you're all doing well and i'll talk to you soon!
